Name: Lise Vold
Family: Husband Gunnar, and sons Filip, Fredrik & Nikolai
Occupation: Social worker and mother of 3 boys
Lise's kids & what they are into:
Filip (age 5)- Playdates, soccer, Playstation, Gameboy, movies, hiking and biking. Filip is super social and loves to talk - all the time!
Fredrik (soon to be 3)- Dressing up, playing outside, reading books and watching movies. Fredrik is active and always on the go, he really looks up to his big brother and is quite the copycat.
Nikolai (6 months)- Putting anything and everything into his mouth. He gets lots of attention, hugs and kisses from his brothers. He is one happy and easy baby.
Sandnes , Norway
Other cities where Lise has lived:
I have, in my childhood, lived in England and Holland and spent a year in Kansas as an exchange student. I have also lived in Oslo during my childhood years and again when I studied to be a social worker.
Lise's one piece of advice for someone about to become a first time parent:
Take it easy! Make and take time to enjoy every phase. Pick your battles and be consistent. Remember to laugh and have some fun too!
I guess that was more than one piece of advice!
Lise's go-to quick & easy meal for her kids:
Fruit & raisins - I cut up all types of fruit up and watch it disappear.
Lise's parenting trick:
It is not really a trick, but my boys always have to say thank you for dinner and carry their plate to the counter top by the dishwasher. It is amazing what little kids actually can manage and how most of the time, they enjoy helping out.
What are the biggest differences in parenting in the US and in Norway?
I think that Norwegian kids spend more time outdoors playing, biking, hiking in the mountains and skiing.
What are some hot European trends?
Retro fabrics, clothes and wallpaper and the colors purple and grey.
The one fashion item Lise cannot live without:
A nice big purse - I need the room with 3 kids.
If Lise could go anywhere tomorrow on an all expense paid vacation, where would she go and with whom?
I love traveling, so it is hard to decide we I would go - back to New York, Thailand or South Africa? Or somewhere were I haven't been, like Australia or Kenya?
Sorry kids...not coming! I think I would take my husband Gunnar to New York again. I think it is important to take time and just be girlfriend and boyfriend. Missing the kids is good thing!
Something else we should know about Lise:
I like to cook and include the boys when I have the time and energy to do so. They love to help and learn what is healthy, but they have also become good at trying different foods. My kids love avocados, tomatoes, fried onions, olives, feta cheese and parmesan cheese. My 5 year old wants a cook book for Christmas and says he can't wait till he can make us dinner!
Thank you, Lise, for being an Itzy Ritzy parent and sharing your thoughts!

Name: Brandon Powell
Family: Wife Jolie, son Jax, son Hudson & daughter Evangeline
Occupation: Family Owned Business - Oil and Gas
Brandon's kids & what they are into:
Jax - 6, who we like to call "Boss Hog" loves baseball and has a huge sweet tooth.
Hudson - 4, our Class Clown plays T-Ball and tries to do everything his big brother does.
Evangeline - 15 months, our little girl who we call Evan brings so much joy to our lives and has completed our family.
Other cities where Brandon has lived:
Brandon's one piece of advice for someone about to become a first time parent:
You can do more than you think - they need you more than you think. I finally got it after our 3rd and have had the best bonding with our little girl. Find laughter in it all...and never forget their age.
The one thing that surprised Brandon the most about becoming a dad:
The spontaneity that comes with having kids. There is never a dull moment.
Brandon's parenting trick:
Each child is their own person - therefore they all cannot be approached the same way.
Brandon's favorite sports team:
Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox
Brandon's favorite one-on-one activities with his children:
Playing catch or watching a movie together.
If Brandon could go anywhere tomorrow on an all expense paid vacation, where would he go and with whom?
I would take my wife back to Cabo where we had our honeymoon 10 years ago. We have not been anywhere since...
Something else we should know about Brandon:
Becoming a father is a gift that we get to enjoy for just a short period of time. I feel so lucky and blessed to have been given the chance to be a dad to my three wonderful kids.

I just wanted to tell you that my son Alex started preschool last week. He is supposed to have a snack bag with is name on it. So I used the Snack Happened monkey bag you gave me as a sample at the ABC Show. He LOVES it and won’t let go out it. He finds his bag now and fills it up with his snack every day before school (well Tuesdays and Thursdays)...What an AWESOME idea for preschools that require a unique bag for the kids! Also, perfect for matchbox cars, according to Alex. Thought you would want to hear that. Thanks! Heather

Join us every month as we celebrate a new parent and all that they do! For our inaugural addition, we would like to celebrate Kerry, Itzy Ritzy's Co-CEO Kelly's best friend since kindergarten. Thank you Kerry for always being 100% Itzy Ritzy supportive.
Kerry's children and what they are into:
- Will (age 4) - Having play dates, fishing, arts
& crafts and watching movies
- Bennett (age 21 months) - Dancing, smiling,
The Wiggles and finding trouble!
Hometown: Naperville, IL
Other cities where Kerry has lived: Iowa City, IA and Chicago, IL
Kerry's favorite Itzy Ritzy fabric:
Red Rider for my wild little cowboys!
Kerry's one piece of advice for someone about to become a first-time parent:
Make some great mommy friends through classes/church/playgroups, if you don't have them already. They are invaluable for advice, tips, or just to vent!
Kerry's go-to quick & easy meal for her kids:
Peanut butter sandwiches & fruit....we always have bread and peanut butter around, they are fast, and my picky eaters love them. They are great for picnics too because they don't require refrigeration!
Kerry's parenting trick:
When we brush their teeth we go through everything they have eaten that day and "brush it off". It helps them brush longer because they try to think of everything they have eaten, plus it helps me assess how good/badly we have eaten that day!
Kerry's favorite guilty pleasure TV show & magazine:
My weakness is reality TV...and of course 'US Weekly'.
If Kerry could go anywhere tomorrow on an all expense paid vacation, where would she go and with whom?
I would go to Hawaii with a nanny so the boys could be with us, but my husband and I could go out for dinner/drinks at night alone.
Best parenting advice...
"Never say Never". Before having children, I would be appalled at parents that would "let" their kids have tantrums in public and thought it would never be the case when I had kids. Wow did I have a lot to learn!
